🔐 How to Recover Your PIN and Regain Access to Important Account Functions

Overview
Your WinVest PIN Code is an important security feature used to authorize certain sensitive actions within your account.
If you’ve forgotten your PIN, don’t panic. You can still sign into your WinVest account as long as you have your username, password, and any required two-factor authentication (2FA).
However, you may need to recover or reset your PIN before you can perform certain account functions.
This guide explains what your PIN is, how it differs from your password and 2FA code, and what to do if you’ve forgotten it.
🔑 Password, PIN and 2FA — What’s the Difference?
It is easy to confuse these three security features because they all help protect your WinVest account.
Password
Your password is used along with your username when signing into your WinVest account.
2FA Code
If you have two-factor authentication enabled, your 2FA code provides an additional layer of protection during the login process.
The temporary code is generated by the authenticator app you connected to your WinVest account.
PIN Code
Your PIN Code is a separate security credential created when you register your account.
WinVest states that the PIN is required for withdrawals and certain account modifications.
❓ What If I Forgot My PIN?
If you can log into WinVest but don’t remember your PIN, you may notice something confusing when you visit Profile Settings.
The page allows you to enter:
New PIN Code
Retype PIN Code
However, before the changes can be saved, you may also be required to enter your:
Current PIN Code
That obviously doesn’t solve the problem if the current PIN is the one you’ve forgotten.
🛠️ How to Recover a Forgotten PIN
WinVest currently provides two pieces of guidance concerning PIN recovery.
Its FAQ instructs members to:
Settings → Recover PIN
According to the FAQ, this should generate a secure verification email containing instructions for creating a new PIN. WinVest does not send your existing PIN by email.
But What If You Don’t See “Recover PIN”?
Some members may not see a Recover PIN option in their account.
WinVest’s Support Center provides an alternative instruction:
Forgot your PIN? Report an Issue form.
If you don’t see the Recover PIN option, use Report an Issue from your WinVest member area.
📝 What to Put in Your Support Request
You can keep your explanation simple.
For example:
I have forgotten my PIN code and need it reset. I can access my account, but Profile Settings requires my current PIN before I can create a new one. Please provide instructions for resetting my PIN.
Provide any account-verification information WinVest requests through its official support process.
⚠️ Important Security Reminder
Never send another person your:
❌ Password
❌ PIN Code
❌ 2FA authentication code
❌ Authenticator secret key
Even someone helping you with your account should never need these credentials.
WinVest also advises members never to share passwords or one-time authentication codes.
📧 Watch for the Verification Email
If WinVest initiates PIN recovery by email, check the email address associated with your account.
If you don’t see the message:
✓ Check your Spam or Junk folder.
✓ Make sure you’re checking the email address registered with WinVest.
✓ Don’t repeatedly submit multiple support requests while waiting.
WinVest specifically warns that multiple support requests submitted within 24 hours may be treated as spam.
🔐 After Your PIN Is Reset
Once you’ve successfully created a new PIN:
✓ Store it somewhere secure.
✓ Don’t use an easily guessed number.
✓ Don’t share it with anyone.
✓ Consider storing it in a reputable password manager.
Remember that your password, PIN and 2FA code serve different purposes. Losing one does not necessarily mean you’ve lost access to everything.
